This item is one of a kind.

BUYING A VINTAGE TIE: Whilst great care has been taken to restore and dry clean each tie; please note that you are buying a vintage/preloved item that may show small signs of ageing and wear.

History on the tie.

Men’s 1950s ties gradually went from just over 3 inches wide to a skinny 2 inches. The handpainted tie faded out of fashion, favoring solid bright colors instead. Towards the late 50s, bold tie patterns came back in style with plaids, polka dots, geometric mod art, and hand painted silk ties of tropical destinations. The thinly knit necktie with square end came back in fashion too, as did the narrow bow tie. The very late 50s saw the unique continental bow tie take inspiration from men’s western wear and place it in mainstream fashion
